Minutes of Mar. 25, 2015 – Supervisors

MINUTES OF MARCH 25, 2015

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Donald R. Leibig, commencing with the Pledge to the Flag.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: none

REPORTS OF ORGANIZATIONS:  none

MINUTES:   Motion by Hogeland to accept the minutes as printed.  Seconded by Weidman.  All aye, motion carried.   

ACTION:

Berks Copy Tech – maintenance contract renewal was reviewed. $190  Motion by Leibig to renew the service contract with Berks Copy Tech in the amount of  $190.  Seconded by Hogeland.  All aye, motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 

Leibig reported street sweeping is scheduled for May 7th & 8th and potholes are being repaired.

NEW BUSINESS: 

Fire Co. requests to participate were reviewed – Flower Sale; Breakfast Sandwich sale and Boot Drive, all on Easter weekend.  Motion by Leibig to give approval to the Fire Co. and its auxiliaries for the Flower Sale; Breakfast Sandwich sale and Boot Drive, all on Easter weekend.  Seconded by Weidman.  All aye, motion carried.

2015 Stone Bid & blacktop –was discussed. (2014 contracts expire April 23rd ) (Requirements:  500 ton 9.5 mm blacktop, 550-ton anti-skid:  Motion by Leibig to advertise for  bids for 550-ton anti-skid, and blacktop 500 ton 9.5 mm, bid to be opened on April 22nd  at 7:15 P.M.  Seconded by Hogeland.  All aye, motion carried.

Motion by Leibig to give our Secretary the okay to prepare a resolution for an escalator clause for the next meeting for blacktop.  Seconded by Hogeland.  All aye, motion carried.

National Day of Caring – Donnie asked for volunteers for the mulching of the playground.  Crime watch members are helping and Road Crew is also volunteering their time.

Purchasing new hotbox KM8000T – 4 ton – price is from $14,000 to $23,000 without a trailer.   The one we have now is a 2 ton.  Literature on piece of equipment was presented. Also a Keizer-Morris 55 gal. Melting kettle $5,000.  Suggested selling the old equipment to a surrounding municipality. Weidman and Hogeland questioned if the Liquid Fuels budget could support it?  Leibig stated he feels that it can.  Motion by Hogeland to authorize Road Master to get all info related to purchasing hotbox and melter.  Seconded by Weidman.  All aye, motion carried. 

BILL’S/TREASURER’S REPORT:   Motion by Leibig to accept the Treasurer’s Report and pay the bills as money is available.  Seconded by Weidman.  All aye, motion carried. 

ADJOURNMENT:  Motion by Hogeland to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 P.M.   Seconded by Weidman.   All aye, motion carried.
