Minutes of June 11, 2014 – Supervisors

MINUTES OF JUNE 11, 2014

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairman Donald R. Leibig commencing with the Pledge to the Flag.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: none

REPORTS OF ORGANIZATIONS:

Recreation Board – Bob Wright was present with report.

Planning & Zoning Commission – minutes received.

Newmanstown Water Authority  – minutes & Audit Report was received

Millcreek-Richland Joint Auth. – budget analysis, financial statements and Annual budget report were received.

Police Activity Reports for April and May were received.

GLRA  minutes & audit report was received.

MINUTES: 

Motion by Hogeland to approve the minutes as printed.  Seconded by Weidman.  All aye, motion carried.

SOLICITOR:

54 E. Main St. demolition status briefly discussed.

ACTION: none

Federal Surplus renewal application was discussed.  Motion by Leibig to renew the Federal Surplus Property program.  Seconded by Hogeland.  All aye, motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:none

NEW BUSINESS: 

Memorial Day participants – tokens of appreciation for participants was discussed. Pipers $50 each; Singing Cedars $50; Pastor $25; Speaker $50, sound system – Nelson Martin $25.  Secretary instructed to send thank you letters with checks.

Central Booking Cost Sharing cost estimates & survey was discussed.    Secretary to complete the survey NO and return. 

2014 Road projects discussed.  E. Bethany Rd. – 1,000’ x 18’ width – Round Barn Rd. – 1150 ‘ x 20’ width.  2” of 19mm binder.  Motion by Leibig to advertise for bids for these roads to be opened Aug. 13, 2014 at 7:15 P.M.  Seconded by  Weidman.  All aye, motion carried.  Leibig will get the quotes and specs for Secretary to prepare the bid.

FINANCIAL CONSULTANT:

Bill Oyster was present with the first quarter financial statement and budget analysis.

BILLS/TREASURERS REPORT:   Motion by Leibig to accept the Treasurers Report and pay the bills as money is available.  Seconded by Weidman.  All aye, motion carried. 

Millcreek Community Group request to use Memorial Park for the 2014 Music in the Park  in August was reviewed.  Motion by Leibig to give the Millcreek Community Group permission to use the park for Music in the Park.  Seconded by Weidman.  All aye, motion carried. 

ADJOURNMENT:  Motion by Leibig to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 P.M.  Seconded by Weidman.  All aye, motion carried.
