Newmanstown Recreational Board Minutes

 

Attendance: Justin Arndt, Josh Garrison, Anthony Gettle, Vicky Oswald, and Beth Garrison

Meeting started 7:07 motion by Justin Arndt and second by Josh Garrison

Correspondence: No new correspondence

Treasury Report accepted by Anthony Gettle and seconded by Beth Garrison.

Need to transfer $28 from snack stand to summer playground fund.

Old Business

Black top of Basketball court:  Township will repave whole blacktop

In the process of getting estimates on commercial basketball hoops.

Summer playground

Wrapped up for the season.  It was good year.  Kreider Farm trip was a success.

Soccer (fall)

First game September 6th at 5:45.

Soccer goals to be set up after National Night Out.

Shirts to be orders and targeting end of August for pictures.

Saturday 8/10 will line the field when the grass is dry.

Fall Frolic:  Possible rain date 10/20

Businesses want to donate to the Fall Frolic, but only if they can get a tax-exempt number.  Fall Frolic committee will meet Wednesday, August 7th at 9 a.m.

New Business

Dunking Booth was not able to be secured for the date.

National night out 8/6 at 5:00

Fall Soccer Snack Stand: 

Roberta would like to run the stand -possibly as a “coordinator”.

Purchase items for stand at Boyer’s. Beth will make a master list of items for the stand to use for restocking purposes.

Treasurer change over at the bank:  Josh Garrison will take over the treasurer duties. The week of August 5th, Josh and Justin will go over the receipts from the snack stand and summer playground.

Proposed for safety purposes putting a chain across the drive path behind the Rec Pavilion.  As seen on the video footage, teenagers have been driving on the path and parking on the basketball courts at night.  To be proactive and keep the future courts from being damaged a chain would be a deterrent.
